Kylie and Megan came home from school today having talked about Thanksgiving. Megan had a pilgrim hat and Kylie had an Indian feather hat and a vest. They looked so cute I had to take a picture of them together.

Molly wasn't going to be left out...

They also know all about the pilgrims and Indians and what happened at the first meal they had together. Have I told you all how much I love them being in school? They love it and they are learning so much! I remember being in school and loving it. A big thanks to 2 wonderful teachers, Mrs. Young and Mrs. Salas!
Christmas is officially here in the Knight home. Last week we decorated our Christmas tree for family home evening and how lovely it is! We had a few minor setbacks such as our pre-lit tree not doing the "lit" part and missing ornaments, but we worked it out and have a beautiful tree decorated by Matt and I and the girls. Molly even got into decorating although most of her ornaments came FROM the tree instead of going ON the tree.

The kids I babysit and Molly have completely undecorated one side of our tree from about halfway up but we have a nice pile going under the tree of ornaments that have been removed. Every once in a while Kylie and Megan will get a bug and put them back on the tree. I have decided I won't really enjoy the season if I worry about a perfect tree, so kids, have fun! I love turning the lights on at night and have gotten many comments of, "Oh, you already put up your tree?!?!?!" To which I reply, "Absolutely! The Christmas season is too short and I am a Christmas nut!" Bring it on! The sights, smells, sounds and feelings...I love it all! The girls will go to school and come home to MORE Christmas decorations and wonder where I keep getting them all! Their biggest concern is the fact that I still haven't gotten the candy to fill the candy jars...it's a rough life!

On a blog of a very dear friend of mine (yes you, Terrianne) I read a comment that said the average person gets only 80 Christmases. She then related that number to other numbers in our lives such as the number of cookies we eat, the number of diapers I have changed...you get the idea. 80 really is such a small number and I am going to milk this glorious season for all I can get out of it. If that means I get a few odd looks...I can take it.

Merry Christmas!

Can you see how blue Molly's eyes are? It is crazy!!

Can you still hear the bells ring? (Polar Express) I am glad Meg can!

Carving Pumpkins

One of my favorite parts of the fall season is the pumpkins! I love the colors and smells and of course carving. We got each of the girls their own pumpkin to carve and I let them help me carve and tell me the shape of each part...eyes, nose and mouth. They suggested some pretty crazy shapes but I told them my cutting ability was limited. They had a ton of fun and we got some really great pictures.

Halloween

Halloween this year was so much fun. The girls were so excited and even Molly enjoyed it...she has a bit of a sweet tooth! Molly only cried a little bit when we put her in her costume. Kylie was Sharpay from High School Musical, Megan was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and Molly was a butterfly. We trick-or-treated around the neighborhood and then came home to hand out candy. The girls had a fabulous night and are enjoying their treats.

Kylie Is Six

Where have the years flown? It seems like such a short time ago that I was cuddling her as a newborn, chasing after her when she discovered how to walk and dropping her off for her first day in sunbeams. And now she is in kndergarten. When I think of the years that have passed, I have to smile as I remember Kylie growing up. She has always been such a happy child, even as a baby. I feel blessed that the Lord has loaned her to me for our time on earth. Oh, how I love her. I can't help but think to the future and wonder what it holds for her.

Kylie had a soccer game in the morning (she scored 3 or 4 goals) and then we went home to open presents. For dinner she requested Chinese food at Pei Wei. :)

I found a really cute cake on BettyCrocker.com that looked like a princess castle. It was all pink and sparkly with ice cream cones for the spires. I loved it...unfortunately Kylie didn't...maybe I will make it for my birthday! :) Kylie instead chose this cake...an underwater mermaid scene. The barbie is wrapped in fruit roll-ups and it turned out really cute. The girls helped me make it and of course we needed two mermaids instead of just one! Good thing Molly isn't big enough to care...we wouldn't have had enough room for a third mermaid. The cake turned out to be really cute and Kylie loved it. Oh, and I even made those star fish...hooray for me!

Soccer Back in Season

Fall soccer season is in session and we are back to weekly practices and games. Kylie is playing again this season (her last in this age group) and Matt is coaching. We sure have fun. Kylie is number 6 and I need to get some action pictures...I will work on that!

Megan, Molly and I sit on the sidelines and cheer Kylie on. We gave Megan the option to play but she declined insisting that it was too much running for her! She likes to participate in practice but visit the snack bar and sit on the sidelines during the game. That's okay! Here are my two sideline buddies:

Molly

My little Molly is getting so big! I had to post a few new pictures of her and her pretty smile. She loves the camera and thinks she is pretty silly.

Molly is never happy with the cup she has. She wants whatever cup Kylie or Megan or Brenham or Alan has! So, she usually has one of each. Here she has two binkys as well. She got a kick out of herself doing this. What a cheese ball.

Molly pulls herself up onto everything now. She has just developed an interest in the computer and all the noises it makes. Unfortunately she can always get herself up but getting down is a different story!

My little soccer girl. She loves the games and likes to hang out in the small Dora chair with a bag of Cheetos. She likes the snack bar almost as much as Megan does!

She is always a mess! You should see her eat yogurt!
I lost her one day and found her surrounded by this pile of books, reading.
I love my baby...she is growing so fast. I love her smiley face and her giggles.

DANGER!!!!

The other day I was cleaning up the toys in the living room and happened upon this:

Poor Troy (from High School Musical). He didn't have a chance with all these girls in the house! It gets pretty scary when boys start losing limbs! Sometimes I wonder how Matt survives in this house full of drama, Barbie dolls and dresses. I guess that is why he has ESPN...it keeps him sane!

Now, I pondered Troy's arm and was about to keep it but decided to throw it away. So, out there in the landfill of San Antonio is Troy's arm...a perfectly good piece of plastic that cannot be reattached to little Troy. Truly this was a traumatic event; however, regardless of the brutality Troy has suffered in our home, he still has a smile on his face. Perhaps we can all learn something from him. :)

Nice hair, don't you think? Hahaha!

Family Pictures

While we were in South Padre we took a family picture. They turned out so good! I was very happy with them. It was hard to get Molly to stay still for us...she was tired and she crashed the minute we got back to the room. Enjoy...I sure have!

The Beach...South Padre Island

Grandma and Grandpa rented a condo on South Padre Island right on the beach over the weekend and we had a blast! The weekend was full of sand (and more sand, in fact I think I still have sand!), good food and family. The weather was beautiful--gorgeous and cool in the evenings and hot during the day. It was perfect. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fabulous weekend!

The girls enjoyed playing on the in the sand and splashing in the waves but then retreating to the "real water" as Megan called it, to swim. There was a large not-salt water pool that the girls had fun swimming in.

Our sweet sand castle...it was a group effort. Kylie and Megan decorated it with sea shells they collected on the beach.

The girls loved getting rides on the boogie board.

Playing on the beach...that building in the back, on the right, was where we stayed. We were on the far right, three floors up. We had the ability to see the sunrise every morning...not me...I was sleeping!
The only pictures we have of Molly are in the condo. She still hated the beach...I think the waves are scary to her. She loved the "real water" pool. :)
Playing Go Fish
Look out Camy...she is after you!
Parker and Megan were dancing like moms and dads do. That was what the people on the movie were doing. Very cute.
