Mother/Daughter Campout

Last weekend was the Sisters' Campout for our stake.  The campout was located at a rather fabulous place called Paradise Canyon.  It was wonderful!  The campsites were great and there was a beautiful river that ran right along camp.

We (me and the three girls and Matt's mom, Sherry) arrived Friday afternoon and quickly set up our tent so we could get swimming!  Kylie and Megan were so excited to get in the water!  I was too since it was nearly 95 degrees outside.  We made the walk to a gorgeous spot on the river where there is a little stream that runs into the river.  The water was freezing but that didn't stop Ky and Meg.  They jumped right in and got swimming.  Molly thought the water was a little too cold for her liking so she spent most of her time playing in the little stream.  The water current was pretty strong and we had these plastic boats that the girls would put in the water and they would flow down into the river...totally fun!

Megan wanted a sleeping bag of her own for her birthday and we got her one but couldn't resist letting her open it a week early since we were going camping and it was the perfect oppotunity to use it!  She loved it!

After convincing the girls that we needed to eat dinner we headed back up to our campsite and roasted hot dogs.  Then we roasted marshmallows, starburst and banana boats (YUM!).  The stake held a campfire gathering (minus the campfire) at 9 pm with singing.  Then we headed to bed.  Ky and Meg were pretty beat but Molly was quite the night owl!  She wanted to stay up...'til nearly midnight I think!  She finally crashed and we got a little sleep before morning arrived.

Breakfast was cooked by the priesthood and it was fabulous!  French toast, sausage and hash browns.  We were lucky to run into our good friends Lori and Sage and had breakfast with them.

We headed out quickly after breakfast to make it home in time for soccer games...and we did!  But what a wonderful time we had camping!  We will certainly go back to Paradise Canyon soon!
